SAIC Motor ranked 84th on the 2023 Fortune Global 500 list, with operating revenue of USD 110.6 billion in 2022. The company continued to hold a leading position among automakers and ranked among the world’s top 10 automotive companies.
The Fortune Global 500, also known as the Global 500, ranks the world’s 500 largest companies and corporations by revenue. The ranking is compiled and published by Fortune every July. SAIC Motor first appeared on the Global 500 list in 2004 and has remained in the top 100 for the past 10 consecutive years.

SAIC Motor sold over 5.3 million vehicles in 2022. This marked the highest sales volume in China for 17 consecutive years. Furthermore, the company became the first Chinese automaker to hit one million NEV sales domestically and another million overseas. During the first half of 2023, MG delivered 115,000 vehicles in Europe. This represents a 143% increase year-over-year, with electric vehicles accounting for over 50% of total sales.

Across all of its brands, from January to July 2023, SAIC Motor delivered 463,000 new energy vehicles (NEV) to customers and recorded 630,000 vehicle sales in overseas markets, representing a 31.6% increase compared with the same period last year.
Amid significant changes in the automotive industry, SAIC Motor is focusing on creating a safer, more efficient, convenient and comfortable mobility experience for users. To achieve this, the group is stepping up its efforts in transformation and innovation, with a particular focus on the development of new energy vehicles (NEV) and intelligent connected vehicles (ICV).

In April, SAIC Motor announced its target of producing 3.5 million NEVs annually by 2025, 2.5 times the figure recorded in 2022. Electric vehicles are expected to account for 70% of the group’s total NEV sales.
SAIC Motor has also introduced the MSP (Modular Scalable Platform), a flexible and scalable modular platform specifically designed for pure electric vehicles. The company continues to invest in technological innovation to deliver more high quality products and provide users with a safe and comfortable driving experience.
In the second half of the year, SAIC Motor planned to begin mass production of electric motor axles using silicon carbide semiconductor technology with an 800V voltage system. Starting in 2024, SAIC Motor also plans to produce solid-state batteries. These batteries offer high safety performance at a lower cost.
The following year, SAIC Motor will apply its advanced VMC (Vehicle Motion Control) technology to its autonomous driving models. This system helps drivers navigate complex road conditions more easily.
In 2025, SAIC Motor will fully deploy its industry-leading Galaxy Full Stack 3.0 smart vehicle solution. This technology integrates centralized computing with zonal control, enabling vehicles to learn, operate, and evolve autonomously.
SAIC Motor currently distributes MG vehicles directly in Vietnam. For MG, Vietnam is a market with strong potential, supported by rapid economic development and growing demand from young, modern consumers.
As a result, MG plans to introduce several of its latest global models to Vietnamese consumers in the coming period. These vehicles will feature advanced technologies.
