Throughout its development, MG Motor has continuously created new milestones in the history of the global automotive industry, with vehicles that embody the brand’s engineering excellence and spirit of innovation.
From the very beginning, MG made an impression with its outstanding vehicles. A prime example is the 14/28 Super Sports, launched in 1924. It was also MG’s very first car. The vehicle could reach a top speed of over 100 km/h, an impressive figure in the early years of the automotive industry.

The MG 14/28 Super Sports quickly became a favorite among speed enthusiasts, helping to bring the MG name to a wider audience of automotive fans. This success demonstrated the brand’s engineering expertise while paving the way for MG’s continuous pursuit of innovation. It also laid the foundation for the achievements MG would accomplish in the years that followed.
In the following decades, MG continued to develop and introduce new models featuring pioneering technologies. Throughout the 1930s, MG cars achieved remarkable victories in prestigious competitions, including the Irish Grand Prix, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, the Ulster TT, and the 1933 Mille Miglia, as well as numerous other racing events across Italy, Germany, and Monaco.

During the product development process, MG has consistently built upon its established values while simultaneously pursuing new technological breakthroughs. In 1953, MG introduced the MG XPA, the world’s first unibody automobile. The unibody construction reduced vehicle weight while increasing structural rigidity, resulting in a more stable and agile driving experience.
MG continued to achieve victories in the world of motorsport and introduced numerous innovations that transformed the automotive industry. These achievements helped establish MG as a renowned and coveted automotive icon worldwide.
The image of a pioneering sports car brand crossing the finish line in racing competitions attracted a passionate, knowledgeable, and stylish customer base to MG. Many prominent figures have owned MG cars, including King Charles III of the United Kingdom and his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Following its acquisition by SAIC, MG continued to pioneer technological advancements, significantly upgrading its suspension systems, chassis, and engine performance. These innovations contributed to setting new standards for the global automotive industry. Alongside internal combustion engine vehicles, MG actively embraced the growing electric vehicle trend and achieved remarkable success.
In 2021, MG officially launched the ZS EV. The model quickly became one of the best-selling electric vehicles in several markets, including the UK, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Australia. It also received numerous prestigious awards. CarBuyer named the ZS EV “Electric Family Car of the Year,” while DrivingElectric awarded it “Car of the Year.” Meanwhile, Auto Express recognized it as “Best Value Electric Car of the Year.”

In 2022, MG continued its journey of innovation with the launch of the Marvel R, the brand’s premium electric SUV. The MG Marvel R is equipped with electric motors delivering 288 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
In 2023, MG unveiled the Cyberster sports car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The model quickly captured attention with its bold, exhilarating design.

Driven by a spirit of innovation and pioneering excellence, MG has journeyed through 100 years of automotive history, marked by numerous remarkable achievements.
