NEXT-GENERATION ADAS SYSTEM: OPTIMIZING REAL-WORLD SAFETY

Today, ADAS is no longer a luxury feature but has become a standard for smart mobility. At MG Tech Day 2026, MG affirmed its pioneering position by developing a driver assistance system based on 1.2 million kilometers of real-world data collected across 24 European countries. Highlights include:

One touch iAD smart parking experience: Supports handling over 30 complex scenarios and automatically identifies more than 300 types of parking spots.

Navigate on autopilot (NOA) feature: An advanced autonomous system currently being perfected, expected to feature on next-generation SUV models from late 2027.

Despite smart algorithms, technology is created to assist, not replace, the driver. ADAS operational capabilities remain affected by weather and traffic infrastructure. Therefore, maintaining focus, actively observing, and staying in control of the steering wheel remain the key for drivers to fully enjoy the safety offered by MG technology.

PLUG-IN HYBRID + POWERTRAIN: OPTIMIZING SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

Parallel to artificial intelligence, MG redefines performance standards by launching an all-new Plug-in Hybrid+ powertrain generation. The combination of a turbocharged gasoline engine (1.1L/1.5L) and a high-power electric motor delivers a driving experience that is both smooth and cost-effective:

• Power split technology: Automatically and intelligently allocates energy between the gasoline engine and electric motor according to operating conditions.
• Motor decoupling mechanism: Completely disengages the engine during pure electric operation, eliminating vibration and noise (NVH) and optimizing cabin smoothness.
• Impressive thermal efficiency: The engine maintains thermal efficiency above 40% across 90% of real-world operating conditions.

Expected from 2027, the MG ZS Plug-in Hybrid+ will be the first commercial model equipped with this advanced powertrain system.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY EXPANDING ELECTRIFICATION HORIZONS

Additionally, one of the most attention-grabbing highlights at MG Tech Day 2026 is SolidCore Battery semi-solid-state battery technology. This is considered a quantum leap that thoroughly addresses current EV barriers:

• Stable energy supply: Maintains optimal discharge current and power output even in harsh weather conditions.
• Absolute safety: Semi-solid structure enhances thermal resistance and minimizes fire and explosion risks.

Accordingly, SolidCore Technology will soon be deployed across 3 core SUV models in MG’s global B, C, and D segments.
