Following its takeover of the MG brand in Vietnam, SAIC Motor Vietnam has swiftly delivered on its commitments through positive changes. Specifically, the automaker has introduced two new models: the New MG5 and the MG RX5, featuring competitive price points alongside advanced equipment.

In the sedan segment, the New MG5 arrives in 3 variants, catering to a diverse customer base ranging from ride-hailing services to families. Meanwhile, the MG RX5 steps into the vibrant C-SUV arena. Boasting a bold, sporty design combined with prominent technology features, the MG RX5 is well-suited for both urban and suburban driving.

New MG5 – Upgraded design with superior interior space

Offered at an attractive price, New MG5 makes it easy for customers to own their first automobile in general, and enter the world of MG in particular. The model embodies an elegant design language focused on safety features and user convenience. Key highlights include parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a sunroof, and a smart key.

The New MG5 delivers an exceptionally spacious interior with overall dimensions of 4,601 mm x 1,818 mm x 1,489 mm. The trunk capacity reaches up to 512 liters and features a convenient power trunk button, ensuring maximum comfort for both driver and passengers.

Global standards and fuel-efficient engine

Prior to its arrival in Vietnam, the New MG5 achieved significant success and established its quality across South America, the Middle East, and the Philippines. All components and parts for the New MG5 are supplied by renowned manufacturers such as Bosch and BorgWarner. Bringing this global model to Vietnam reflects MG’s dedication to proving its quality and winning over local customers.

The 1.5L NSE engine on MG’s new B-segment sedan produces a maximum power output of 113 hp, with fuel consumption starting from just 5.5L/100km. Additionally, the New MG5 offers choices between a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT automatic transmission. Specifically, the New MG5 comes in three variants: New MG5 1.5 MT, New MG5 1.5 CVT STD, and New MG5 1.5 CVT DEL, priced at 399,000,000 VND, 459,000,000 VND, and 499,000,000 VND respectively (VAT included).

MG RX5 – inspiring freedom

Alongside the New MG5 in this launch is MG RX5,  making its regional debut in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Customers can directly admire and experience the product, which brings state-of-the-art updates in both technology and performance.

Impressive power with 1.5L turbo engine

The MG RX5 is powered by a high-performance 1.5L Turbocharged engine, delivering a peak power output of 168 hp and a maximum torque of 275 Nm. This powertrain ensures responsive acceleration and smooth performance whether navigating city streets or tackling steep inclines. Direct fuel injection optimizes combustion, improving fuel efficiency, extending engine lifespan, and reducing operational costs. Furthermore, the RX5 utilizes a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission with a power transmission efficiency exceeding 97% for enhanced smoothness and durability.

Sporty design language and top-tier safety technology

Positioned in the C-SUV segment, the MG RX5 targets modern drivers who appreciate lifestyle enjoyment. As a result, the model is packed with advanced user-centric features. The exterior stands out with an X-shaped front grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a sporty rear spoiler. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, Cruise Control, and an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold. A 14.1-inch infotainment screen with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint coating ensures precise operation and a high-tech user experience.

In addition to convenience features, the MG RX5 offers comprehensive safety systems, including ABS brakes, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Hill Start Assist and Brake Disc Wiping functions are also included.

Attractive pricing and special 99th anniversary offers

The MG RX5 is available in two variants: MG RX5 1.5T STD and MG RX5 1.5T LUX, priced at 739,000,000 VND and 829,000,000 VND respectively (VAT included).

To celebrate the British brand’s 99th anniversary, the first 299 Vietnamese customers purchasing the MG RX5 will enjoy a special promotional price. Specifically, the RX5 1.5T STD is available for just 699,000,000 VND, while the RX5 1.5T LUX is offered at 799,000,000 VND (VAT included).

Both the New MG5 and MG RX5 are completely built-up (CBU) imports and come with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.
